Lolia means bright star in Ijaw, the language of my ancestors.

Studio Lolia is the home of my tattooing practice. This is a safe space for self expression, for taking ownership of your body and claiming your power to adorn it in whatever way feels right for you.

My process is intuitive and collaborative.

My preferred style: Bold and fine linework, solid blackwork, illustrative linework, light shading, fine line miniature realism. I primarily work in Black ink and use colour as an accent in some of my pieces.

I’m currently interested in tattooing: botanicals, tropical leaves, florals, trees, pieces with hands and human figures, animals, birds, fish, insects, all kinds of creatures from mythology and folklore, traditional mas and carnival, natural elements of the earth, landscapes, space, astrology, spirituality, mysticism, pieces exploring Caribbean identity, African and indigenous spirituality, abstract pieces that take up large areas of the body, dots and lines, geometric shapes, distorted shapes & warped text.

FAQ

Where are you located?

I’m located in Trinidad & Tobago.

What are your rates?

My starting price/hourly rate is $600/ttd. I usually give an estimated range for the price of the tattoo based on the time I think it would take to complete.

I’m not 100% sure of my tattoo idea. Can I meet with you to talk it out first?

If you’d like to meet in person or virtually to discuss your tattoo design, its sizing and its placement, we can schedule a consultation. These cost $100 and can be booked via email.

Can I see the design for my tattoo before my appointment?

I don’t send custom designs via email. When we meet for your appointment you will be able to see the design I’ve created for you and if there are any changes you’d like to make, we can make them together. It’s important to me that you get the tattoo that you want on your body - I want you to be happy with your new artwork. I prefer to give each project my full energy and attention so I aim to only work with one client per day. This means we’ll have more than enough time together to make adjustments so that the piece feels right for you.

Are your inks vegan?

Yes they are!

What do I need to do to prepare for my tattoo?

Make sure to eat a full meal before you come in for your appointment and to bring water, snacks and lunch as well, depending on the estimated length of your tattoo appointment. I recommend clearing your schedule for the day so that we have enough time together and can work without feeling a need to rush the process.

How do I care for my new tattoo?

It is important to keep your new artwork moisturized and protected from the sun for the first two weeks of healing. It cannot be submerged in water during this time but can be cleaned gently with soap and water while you are in the shower. I recommend applying a thin layer of vitamin E oil, shea butter or cocoa butter two to three times a day and using loose fitting clothing to cover your ink when you’re out during the day. It’s normal for your new tattoo to feel itchy and start to peel after a few days. To ensure proper healing, don’t scratch it or pick at it while it’s healing.

What about this pandemic?

I carefully sanitize the studio after every appointment. You’ll be required to wear a mask and sanitize your hands when you come in for our appointment. Please call or email to reschedule if you have interacted with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 or if you are feeling ill and have flu-like symptoms.

Bookings

My books are currently closed. I usually open my bookings for two weeks every two-three months to schedule appointments. I reply to everyone via email but prioritize requests that I feel are most connected to my practice.

Stars, like people, are constantly creating themselves; finding balance between the gravity of their internal process and the necessity of outward self expression. This is an invitation to create yourself.
