I find peace by the water. I tend to gravitate to the nearest river or water source no matter where I am. I go there to give thanks, to connect and to be held in its watery embrace. It's an essential part of my spiritual practice and it's become so present in my work.
Maybe it's from the experience of growing up on an island, moving around but always living near a river. Or something about living in this country in particular, with its mix of spiritual traditions rooted in the land and water. Or maybe it's a genetic connection to the river, my ancestors' religious practices centred around water spirits. Also, my mars is in cancer and that's probably playing some part too lol.
It's a relationship that l'm deeply grateful for & continue to learn from. I'll be sharing some of my lessons from the water in my ongoing work. Now That I’m a River, this Saturday at Alice Yard.
